To funny not to share...

Our friend Danielle responded to my recent e-mail update with this little funny. It was too good not to share. (I've edited it for privacy.)

My friend is working on Peds right now and they have a little boy with CP who is in for an asthma exacerbation. Well, anyway, his mom took him to a Pharmacy "walk-in clinic" staffed with NP's and such. No docs. ANYWAY he has a G-tube and for some reason they assumed he couldn't take IN his MOUTH at all, so they gave him his albuterol treatment through the G-tube... they opened up the button and held the nebulizer over it. LOL... I about DIED when she told me this. What a joke!

I still laugh out loud every time I visualize holding the nebulizer over the mic-key button. What makes these people think that this kid is breathing through his tummy?

Thanks for sharing this Danielle!

Honestly, doesn't it make you worry about this poor child's well-being that his parents are so stupid that they think that would work? I mean, seriously.

Speaking of stupid people, I had an ER nurse tell me the following story. One night while working in the ER, a lady came in with a foul odor and discomfort from her vaginal area. Doc got in there and there was purple crap all in her. He asked her if she had put anything inside of herself and she said yes, that her OB/GYN told her to use jelly with her birth control device, so she didn't know it meant petroleum jelly and she used grape jelly.

Swear to God, you can't make up this stuff.
