Her teacher left me a note saying that the only smile they could get would accompany Jenelle's hands on her head in some fashion. Whenever they held them down, she would get very, very serious, like above.
It's lovely. Deep purple top also makes it subtle and moody, all emphasis on her beautiful skin and features. She looks calm and thoughtful.
My son's school pictures are a chronicle of teacher styles and choices--the year his teacher combed and parted his wild hair (cute, but not necessary); the year they didn't have a good seat and his knees are in the picture (that takes some doing); the year they tried to hide his chair with a towel (didn't work!); the year they didn't know how to elicit a smile (or much else, as it turned out); etc. It's always an adventure.
Jenelle suffers from a rare form of Epilepsy called Lennox Gastaut Syndrome.
